Job Overview:

ASRC Federal Facilities Logistics (AFFL) is seeking a Quality Manager with significant Facility Maintenance and Construction experience to support our work at NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt MD. This role is in support of the Repair, Operations, Maintenance and Engineering (ROME) contract. Goddard Space Flight Center has two main campuses, Greenbelt, MD, and Wallops Flight Facility on Virginia’s Eastern Shore. The Greenbelt campus has 1,270 acres and includes 37 primary numbered buildings and numerous smaller ones, totaling approximately 3.5 million gross sq. ft. These include mission operations spaces, data centers, integration and test facilities, cleanrooms, laboratories, and other functions. Wallops is situated on 6,187 acres and includes a total of 250 buildings, of which 117 are dedicated to the mission of low‐cost NASA and commercial launches and runway airfield operations. WFF also houses the U.S. Navy as a tenant, and those facility needs are included under the ROME contract.

The Quality Manager is responsible for conducting inspections, documenting results, analyzing data, assisting with root cause analysis and providing customer quality related reporting. This position mainly supports the facilities and construction requirements at the Greenbelt location with some matrix management oversight of the Wallops Island quality control site activities.

 

Key Job Duties

  • Performs day-to-day implementation of AFFL’s NASA ROME Quality Control Plan and Inspection Procedure requirements ensuring all quality control activities are performed throughout the contract
  • Establish and maintain positive and effective relationships with customer(s), project staff and subcontractors
  • Plans, schedules and performs field audits/inspections of maintenance and construction work performed by technicians and subcontractors to ensure completed tasks meet quality of workmanship, company process, applicable industry standard(s), and customer requirements
  • Reviews Work Order information entries made in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to ensure thorough and accurate completion
  • Documents, analyzes, and reports on inspections performed and associated inspection results and trends
  • Monitors, tracks, and reports on customer feedback results provided by the Customer’s satisfaction survey system and ensures complaints and/or concerns are documented and reported to Program Management for review and follow-up
  • Assess and update QC-related plans and procedures, as necessary, to ensure contract, customer and industry criteria are met
  • Investigate problems and perform root cause analysis when appropriate to determine corrective actions
  • Consult on decisions in favor of cost-efficiency without compromising on quality.
  • Continuously improve program quality plans and procedures.
  • Review, analyze, and report on quality discrepancies and data.
