Description
PURPOSE:
This position is responsible for creation, planning and controlling of ERP information during new product development activities as defined by engineering for bids, quoting, and costing as well as promoting successful transition of products to manufacturing.
DUTIES, RESPONSIBILITIES, ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Includes the following. Other duties may be assigned.
· Implement new or update Bills of Materials (BOMs) and Labor Routings using Engineering drawings, model sheets, Raw Material Control Sheets (RMCS) sheets and enter data into product data management software;
· Work within the product development and process design teams to ensure that BOMs and Routings are available to produce the product under development and thru production;
· Create unit/hour time estimates for manufactured items;
· Revise BOMs and routings resulting from formal Bill of Material/Labor Routing Change Requests.
· Process changes resulting from ECRs, ECOs, DCOs, and customer changes;
· Process Manufacturing Work Requests for Engineering Development programs to ready them for use by Production Control by entering BOMs and/or Labor Routings into the Item Master;
· Assist in answering questions that arise from the production floor supervisors, engineers, and/or technicians regarding BOMS and routings. Be able to recommend process and/or system changes to enhance safety/productivity/quality.
· Assist Engineers, Project Managers, Sales and Marketing Departments with new product development, bids, quotes and costing, entering data for running Cost Simulations.
· Be an active participant/approver of the NPD process and review all documentation (BOMs, Labor Routings) for new orders awaiting production planning for accuracy and readiness.
· Understanding of continuous improvement process by identifying opportunities and reducing waste;
· Schedule flexibility to support critical deadlines may be required
Requirements
EDUCATION AND/OR PROFESSIONAL LICENSE(s)/EXPERIENCE:
A four-year bachelor’s degree or equivalent. APICS certification in ERP and any specialized training in Production and Inventory Management is a plus. Minimum of 3-5 years with Manufacturing Planning and Control /ERP information systems, production control activities, production and inventory management processes.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
· Must demonstrate strong computer and software skills
· Total understanding of ERP and MRP systems and how each works
· Familiarity with new product development and transfer to production
· Ability to read and understand engineering drawings
POSITION SUPERVISES:
This is a non-supervisory position
CONTACT WITH OTHERS:
This position will work within an integrated product team environment collaborating with the Design, Quality, and Manufacturing/Process Engineering functions. Routine communications will also occur with Production Planning, Sales/Marketing and Finance Departments.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Works majority of the day in a climate-controlled environment, with the exception of or otherwise specified, performing work in the warehouse or manufacturing areas which are subject to changes in temperature and/or noise.
TRAVEL:
Generally, travel is not required

Carbondale, PA is about twenty miles north of Scranton, PA, 50 miles south of Binghamton, NY, and about 125 miles from New York City and Philadelphia.
