Job Description

Job Responsibilities:

Communicates with the Plant Manager about the condition of raw materials used in concrete block and product manufacturing, promptly informing the Plant Manager of important observations such as changes in product moisture content.

Job Duties:

• •Operate at the end of a wet sanding/buffing machine that processes fully cured, hardened blocks.

•Remove finished blocks from the production line after they have passed through multiple sanding stations.

•Inspect blocks as they come off the machine to ensure they have been properly processed.

•Stack finished blocks neatly and safely onto pallets for further processing or shipment.

•Handle blocks that contain granite material, which may become visible after the exterior surface has been buffed or sanded.

•Work with blocks that are wet as a result of the wet sanding process.

•Maintain a clean and safe work area around the machine and palletizing station.

•Follow all safety procedures and production instructions while handling materials and operating around machinery.

•Perform repetitive lifting, moving, and stacking of finished blocks throughout the shift.

•Safely and professionally operates equipment to load and unload materials and finished products around the plant/location.

•Performs frequent quality control functions including verification of contents, customer location and other duties to ensure high degree of quality products.

•Maintains high level of customer relations and acts as Company ambassador.

•Performs pre-shift and post-shift inspections of equipment and reports repairs to proper personnel. Monitors and cleans company equipment to ensure appearance, safety and proper maintenance levels.

•Assists in labor and yard/plant functions by lifting materials and operating equipment.

•Generates and maintains proper records and documents daily activities.

•Maintains the Forklift, Loader and other Equipment that is constantly kept in clean condition.

Skills and qualifications:

• Must be able to communicate (read, listen, understand, speak) and follow instructions as given.
• Must possess appropriate and current mechanical/technical/computer background and aptitude
• Ability to stand for 8+ hours a day.
• Must be able to stand, walk, sit, climb, bend, squat, reach, pull, balance, crawl, work in confined spaces, and be able to lift and maneuver 50 pounds regularly.
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes, or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, heat, loud noise and vibration, weather conditions, and wet and/or humid conditions.
