The Computer Network Technologist will lead the US Army Home Station Instrumentation Training Systems (HITS) team to ensure the operational readiness of the HITS components, through the conduct of year-round sustainment, and through the integration of HITS into the Joint Pacific Multinational Readiness Capability Instrumentation System (JPMRC-IS). Coordinates with Contact Team personnel, Interim Range System (IRS), HITS team, and other JPMRC-IS elements. Integrates Dismount kits, Vehicle kits and Player Unit Radios (PURs) numbers during Reception Staging Onward-Movement and Integration (RSOI).Updates all RSOI numbers into AWARE. Oversees setup and teardown of the Network Control Center (NCC) and 2 HITS towers/shelters, configure Network Management Center (NMC) and IRS gateway laptops. Plans field analysis and proper coverage with the RF and Engineering team. Ensures accountability and maintenance of assigned HITS equipment. Participates in Exercise Planning Workshops as directed to provide insight of best field coverage to support Rotational Unit (RTUs).

This position supports the JPMRC-IS program under the Army TADSS Maintenance Program (ATMP) at Schofield Barracks, Hawaii. JPMRC-IS operations support the Army s USARPAC mission: to provide realistic joint and combined arms training focused on developing soldiers, leaders, and units of the United States military for success on the 21st century battlefield. This experience includes capabilities of many of the world’s best systems integration and engineering in the technical integration of live, virtual and constructive (LVC) training support.


  • Responsible for the operational readiness of all Home Station Instrumentation Training System (HITS) network servers, network systems, user vests, antenna and microwave components.

  • Responsible for the deployment, setup, configuration, integration, testing and troubleshooting of HITS components.

  • Support and perform microwave path alignments, equipment configuration and troubleshooting of transmission path problems.

  • Responsible for the maintenance and field repair of base stations, transmitters and other field repairable system equipment and components.

  • Responsible for the performance of field investigations to support engineering analysis.

  • Support training and mission support with the LVC-IA Branch and JPMRC, as well as providing instrumentation and contact team support including MILES validation and integration with HITS components.

  • Assist in capturing data for input for unit After Action Reviews (AARs)

  • Trains new employees on the operations, troubleshooting and repair of the HITS system components.

  • Create technical field and maintenance reports, as required.

  • Complete testing and system performance documentation.

  • Support and perform on-site commissioning, site acceptance and system testing.

  • Assist with programming and configuration of all system components.

  • Employ of a variety of specialized test equipment and complex electronic schematics and diagrams in conducting fault isolation, and use the data gained through the troubleshooting/repair process to prepare and revise maintenance instructions and procedures and to recommend and implement manufacturer/engineering changes.

  • Ensure all maintenance, training, supply and property process/practices supporting site operations are implemented and documented in AWARE.

  • Ensuring physical security of equipment.

  • May require travel to other military installations and other ATMP locations throughout CONUS and OCONUS.

  • Any other duties as may be assigned.


  • B.S./B.A. in Engineering, Science, Information Systems, or Mathematics or 3 years’ experience with the technical integration of live, virtual and constructive (LVC) training support enablers.

  • Must Possess an active Secret Security Clearance.

  • Experience with JPMRC-IS is preferred.

  • Strong verbal, written and interpersonal skills preferred.

  • Proficient with basic computer systems including email and Microsoft Office applications and be able to work with a computer for extended periods of time.

  • Must be able to obtain/maintain a valid driver's license and Post driving privileges.

  • Able to obtain US passport.

  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.

  • Able to wear appropriate personal protective equipment.

Must be able to obtain, maintain and/or currently possess a security clearance.
