Job Title: Composites CNC Machinist

Shift/Hours: 3rd Shift (10:30PM-6:45AM)

Position Purpose Summary – Perform all operations in work area to meet or exceed expected quality and production standards.


Job Description

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Comply with all federal and state environmental, health and safety regulations as well as any safety policies and protocols outlined by the company.
• Perform job in compliance with Greene, Tweed & Co. Quality Policy (ie.AS 9100).Perform highly diversified machining of complex shapes, including prototype samples on all equipment including 5-axis CNC machines.
• Perform various production functions including but not limited to: Setting up machines, setting up fixtures, downloading programs, making tooling offset changes, adjusting programs at the machine, and monitoring tool wear. Must be capable of working with blueprints and sketches with minimal supervision.
• Understand geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.
• Complete first article inspections, as necessary
• Perform all other dimensional inspection requirements including those involving the use of contact/non-contact measuring systems (CMM, OGP, etc.) and or other measuring devices.
• Will be responsible assisting operators to produce quality parts at a rapid pace.
• Degate, Finish and visually inspect parts as necessary to ensure highest product quality utilizing any required equipment within the department.
• Record all Information on GT data collection system as required.
• Maintain good general housekeeping of work areas.
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES
• Perform all miscellaneous duties for the work area as directed.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
• High School Diploma/GED or equivalent experience
• Must be proficient in basic math and geometry skills.
• Preferred proficiency in machining composite materials.
• Must have experience running a 5-axis machine.

• Demonstrated ability to independently read and interpret production drawings, work instructions, Company documents and other specified requirements essential for performing standard job functions
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
• Ability to wear personal protective equipment such as safety glasses and safety shoes
• Ability to work long periods of time in a standing position
• Ability to occasionally work in positions requiring twisting, stooping, and grasping
• Ability to occasionally lift up to 55 pounds without the use of mechanical lifting devices or help from others.
