SUMMARY:
The Compliance & Sustainability Manager is responsible for ensuring the organization adheres to all applicable regulatory, customer, and internal compliance requirements. This role plays a key part in supporting procurement-related compliance activities, including completion of customer forms and adherence to International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). Additionally, the position will support sustainability initiatives, reporting, and continuous improvement efforts aligned with company goals.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Regulatory & Compliance Management
Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations related to manufacturing operations
Maintain and support ITAR compliance programs, including documentation, training, and internal audits
Assist with compliance related to export controls and customer-specific requirements
Monitor regulatory changes and communicate impacts to relevant stakeholders
Procurement & Customer Compliance
Complete and manage customer-required compliance documentation, including supplier questionnaires and certifications
Partner with procurement, quality, and sales teams to ensure timely and accurate submission of compliance forms
Maintain records of compliance documentation and ensure audit readiness
Support supplier compliance initiatives and verification processes
Sustainability & Environmental Initiatives
Assist in the development and execution of sustainability programs and goals
Track, analyze, and report environmental metrics (e.g., energy usage, waste reduction, emissions)
Support customer and regulatory sustainability reporting requirements
Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in environmental performance
Auditing & Continuous Improvement
Participate in internal and external audits related to compliance and sustainability
Identify gaps and support corrective action plans
Develop and maintain policies, procedures, and work instructions related to compliance
Promote a culture of compliance and ethical business practices across the organization
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field preferred
5+ years of experience in compliance, regulatory affairs, sustainability, or manufacturing environment
Experience with ITAR, export controls, or government contracting strongly preferred
Skills & Competencies
Strong understanding of regulatory compliance and documentation processes
Knowledge of sustainability frameworks and environmental reporting is a plus
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); experience with ERP systems a plus
