Position Summary
The Compensation & Benefits Analyst supports the day-to-day administration of the Company’s compensation, benefits, and leave programs. The role is primarily responsible for coordinating U.S. leave administration, supporting benefits operations, and preparing and consolidating compensation and Total Rewards reports across global employee populations.
Working closely with employees, HR partners, Payroll, HRIS, external vendors, and regional HR teams, the Analyst helps ensure accurate data, timely processing, effective case coordination, and consistent administration of Total Rewards programs. This role is well suited for an early-career HR professional who is highly organized, analytical, detail-oriented, and interested in developing broad experience across compensation and benefits.
Key Responsibilities
Leave Administration
- Coordinate the day-to-day administration of U.S. leave programs, including FMLA, state and local leave programs, paid parental leave, short-term disability, and long-term disability.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for employees regarding leave processes, documentation requirements, status updates, and return-to-work procedures.
- Coordinate with the Company’s leave administrator, disability carriers, Payroll, HRIS, HR Business Partners, and managers to support accurate and timely leave administration.
- Track leave cases, follow up on outstanding documentation, and maintain accurate leave records and status reports.
- Review leave information and payroll impacts for accuracy and escalate discrepancies or complex cases as appropriate.
- Support employee communications related to leave approvals, extensions, return-to-work requirements, and available Company programs.
- Maintain leave administration procedures, templates, employee communications, and manager guidance materials.
- Assist with periodic audits of leave records and support compliance documentation and reporting requirements.
- Identify recurring administrative issues and recommend process improvements to the Total Rewards team.
Benefits Administration
- Support the day-to-day administration of health and welfare, retirement, and voluntary benefit programs.
- Process and review benefits vendor invoices and coordinate with vendors, broker, Payroll, Accounting, and internal stakeholders to resolve discrepancies.
- Perform eligibility, enrollment, payroll deduction, and vendor data reconciliations.
- Respond to routine employee questions regarding benefit eligibility, enrollment, coverage, and administrative processes.
- Coordinate with benefits vendors, Payroll, HRIS, and HR partners to research and resolve enrollment, eligibility, deduction, and coverage issues.
- Support benefits administration activities related to new hires, qualifying life events, terminations, and employee status changes.
- Prepare and maintain recurring benefits reports, eligibility files, reconciliation reports, and administrative trackers.
- Support annual enrollment activities, including data validation, system testing, employee communications, and issue tracking.
- Assist with benefits renewal and implementation activities by gathering data, maintaining project trackers, coordinating information, and supporting employee communications.
- Maintain benefits procedures, process documentation, plan materials, and administrative records.
- Escalate complex employee issues, vendor service concerns, and potential compliance issues to the appropriate Total Rewards team member.
Compensation Reporting & Analytics Support
- Consolidate compensation and employee data submitted by regional HR teams into standardized global reports and templates.
- Support recurring compensation reporting, including salary, bonus, incentive, headcount, and other Total Rewards analyses.
- Review submitted data for completeness, consistency, and accuracy and follow up with regional HR teams to resolve discrepancies.
- Maintain compensation data files, trackers, reporting templates, and supporting documentation.
- Assist with annual compensation processes, including merit reviews, bonus projections, salary planning, and market data preparation.
- Prepare basic analyses and summaries using Excel, including data validation, reconciliation, comparisons, and trend reporting.
- Assist with compensation data audits, testing, and HRIS data validation activities.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Data Analytics, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
- 1–3 years of experience in Human Resources, benefits administration, leave administration, Total Rewards, HR operations, or a related field.
- Recent graduates with strong analytical capabilities are also encouraged to apply.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including the ability to work with large datasets and use formulas, lookups, pivot tables, filters, and data reconciliation techniques.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify data discrepancies, investigate issues, and draw logical conclusions from information.
- Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
- Ability to learn new systems, processes, and technical concepts quickly.
Preferred Qualifications
- Internship, co-op, or prior work experience in Human Resources, Finance, Data Analytics, Business Operations, or a related field.
- Exposure to employee benefits, leave administration, compensation, payroll, or HR operations.
- Experience working with HRIS, payroll, benefits administration, or case management systems.
- Experience with data reporting, reconciliation, or consolidation of information from multiple sources.
- Familiarity with Power Query, Power BI, or other data reporting and automation tools.
- Basic knowledge of U.S. employee benefits and leave programs.
Environmental Factors
- This role requires Stamford, CT office on-site presence Monday through Thursday, with the flexibility to work remotely from anywhere on Fridays.
- Working conditions are normal for an office environment.
- Must be able to sit for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to use a computer keyboard and view a monitor for extended periods of time.
