Must-haves:

  • Requires a BA/BS in Related Field.
  • Relevant work experience may substitute for required education.
  • 1-2 years previous experience in a communications/journalism related field.
  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, marketing, public relations or related field.
  • Strong writing & computer skills are a must.
  • Event planning experience is preferred.
  • Must possess the ability to multitask & meet deadlines in high-pace environment.
  • Highly organized, creative, articulate and have excellent people skills.
  • Prefer bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, public relations or related field.
  • Must be willing to work flexible hours & travel when necessary.

Preferred:

  • Strong content creator and excellent storyteller with superior written and verbal communications skills
  • Proven success designing and executing marketing and communications strategies and campaigns
  • Up-to-date on communications and marketing industry trends and able to stay ahead of the curve
  • Experience in distilling complex technology or policy concepts into consumer/employee language.
  • Creative, multi-media content creation skills and experience. Experience in Adobe Creative Suite experienced preferred.
  • Event planning experience is preferred
  • Experience with change management practices and working on change communications.
  • Experience communicating to an employee population of technologists and engineers and/or leading internal communications campaigns, programming and events.

Primary Responsibilities Include:

  • Oversee video production logistics and associated procedures and checklists including management of outside vendors & business partners to obtain quotes & achieve technical goals related to Annual Corporate Video Report
  • Assists Communications Manager to support strategic communications efforts including review/edit & distribution of press releases
  • Coordinate with Security, ITAR, Contracts, Legal & the Business Areas on PR teamroom approvals.
  • Lead the creation, distribution and execution of the Annual Corporate Video Report including scripts, content & creation of executive messages (w/consultant support as needed).
  • Assist with SNC’s media management system (e.g. Meltwater) including disseminating external communications that advance SNC initiatives.
  • Develop media coverage reports based on SNC earned media & social media received through SNC media monitoring service.
  • Develop and maintain updated procedures Corporate Video and assist with Media Relations procedure.
  • Serve as a liaison between the IT & Communications departments to maintain the Communications contacts databases and execute key functions.
  • Assist with maintaining organization of the PR teamroom.
  • Maintain the department’s annual Calendar of Events, in both digital & printed forms.
  • Support the Director of Communications and Communications Manager with SNC’s national, regional & local media relations.
  • Provide administrative support to Director of Communications, including completing staff calendars & travel/expense reports & processing invoices.
