The Commissioning Technician is the on-site representative for Clean Energy. Along with any supporting staff, the Commissioning Technician will lead commissioning-related activities to include site observations/inspections, perform equipment and systems start-up, testing (QA/QC, Functional Performance), and perform / monitor / witness training. Other duties include office activities in support of the Commissioning scope of work including design reviews, test development and management of project documentation. The Commissioning Technician is looked at by the client, design team and construction team as a practical expert in their field with a focus on operations & maintenance, safety and industry best practices.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Carry out startup and commissioning as defined in the Commissioning Checklist and Standard Operating Procedures
Ensure that the installation and testing of CNG and LNG equipment and construction is conducted in accordance with Contract requirements for the following range of equipment on mechanical systems:
Experienced in the walk-down and punch listing of systems and subsystems. Perform / Coordinate with contractor to perform minor construction punch list items as needed.
Ability to read and understand P&ID’s, Mechanical Drawings, schematics and Logic Drawings.
Ensure “as-built” drawings are marked up and updated, and passed to the appropriate Supervisor and Engineers.
Skilled in the use of all test equipment required during commissioning activities.
Familiar with standard commissioning check list forms, turn over documentation, red line drawings, as-built drawings and the ability to complete required documentation accurately and legible.
Represent Clean Energy in a professional manner to any external stakeholders at the site, such as representatives of the Fire Department, the owner or owner's representative, and field service technicians.
Requires frequent travel to job sites up to two weeks or more at a time

Education and/or Experience
High School Diploma or equivalent, plus a minimum of 5 years of related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Skills
Ability to read and comprehend instructions, policies and procedures, correspondence, and memos. Ability to write correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations. Ability to use logic and reasoning.
Computer Skills
Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office applications. PLC experience preferred.
