Position Description:

The Commercial Supply Chain Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing the company's overall supply chain operations. This includes planning, implementing, and monitoring all supply chain activities to maximize efficiency and productivity. The role requires strong leadership, analytical skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with various internal and external stakeholders.

Functions, Duties, Tasks:

Proactively manage inventory to meet business objectives while adhering to established minimum and maximum levels. This involves:

  • Calculating and regularly reviewing optimal safety stock levels, standard order quantities, and reorder points.
  • Taking decisive action to maintain inventory within target ranges, such as adjusting order quantities and timing, expediting or delaying shipments, and collaborating with manufacturing sites.
  • Demonstrating a thorough understanding of key replenishment concepts including safety stock, lead times (including customs clearance and quality inspection), and standard order quantities.
  • Accurately translating these concepts into SAP parameters and maintaining data integrity within the system for assigned products.
  • Understanding product sourcing, financial flows, and physical product flow throughout the supply chain.

Deliver outstanding customer service by leading a highly effective S&OP process, ensuring forecast accuracy, driving consensus across the organization, and proactively managing inventory to minimize risk.

  • Utilizing the sales forecast as the foundation for supply planning and proactively collaborating with stakeholders to achieve consensus on the most accurate forecast.
  • Leveraging business acumen to critically evaluate and challenge forecasts.
  • Disciplined execution of the replenishment process, considering potential risks such as product expiration.
  • Effectively facilitating Affiliate S&OP meetings to drive collaborative decision-making.
  • Partnering with internal and external teams (warehousing, regulatory, quality, import/export) to ensure seamless product flow and address issues such as packaging changes and inventory strategies.
  • Proactively identifying and mitigating inventory expiration risks, including managing product destruction when necessary to prevent stockouts.

Drive successful new product launches and support innovation initiatives by ensuring optimal inventory availability. This involves:

  • Understanding and leveraging required SAP data to effectively manage initial product supply, anticipating potential challenges and implementing solutions proactively.
  • Collaborating closely with cross-functional launch teams, providing expertise on inventory management and proactively addressing potential supply chain bottlenecks.
  • Continuously monitoring sales performance against forecasts and recommending demand adjustments to optimize inventory levels and prevent stockouts or overstock situations.

Proactively ensure all work activities are conducted in full compliance with established local and global policies and procedures. Develop deep expertise in supply and replenishment processes to serve as a subject matter expert (SME) within the affiliate. Collaborate effectively with the local quality team to manage product recalls, relabeling efforts, and other actions required to address non-technical marketing (NTM) challenges.

Minimum Qualification (education, experience and/or training, required certifications):

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in a supply chain management role.

Additional Preferences:

  • Master's degree in Supply Chain Management or MBA.
  • Professional certifications in supply chain management (e.g., CSCP, CPIM).
