Commercial Sales Manager

Building Materials- Wichita, KS

Star Lumber & Supply Co., Inc. delivers confidence through our products and our people. We are seeking a Commercial/Multi Family Sales Manager to join our Building Materials team. As the Building Materials Commercial/Multi Family Sales Manager, you will be responsible for developing and implementing sales strategies to maintain and increase our market share in the commercial construction sector. You'll lead a team of outside sales representatives and inside sales team and estimators, fostering relationships with general contractors, multifamily builders and other key decision-makers in the industry.

A Typical Day

• Develop and execute sales strategies to meet and exceed revenue and margin goals
• Lead, coach, and motivate a team of outside and inside sales representatives
• Manage pricing decisions on all quoted jobs
• Analyze market trends and competitor activities to identify new opportunities
• Build and maintain strong relationships with key accounts and industry partners
• Monitor sales performance and prepare regular reporting for executive leadership
• Ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations

Requirements

• Sales experience in the building materials or construction industry with a proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales and margin goals
• Demonstrated ability to develop and implement successful sales strategies that drive both revenue and profitability
• Strong financial acumen and experience in budget management and forecasting
• Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a high-performing sales team
• Advanced negotiation and closing skills
• Ability to effectively communicate with a variety of customers
• Ability to resolve conflict and manage difficult conversations
• Valid driver’s license

Preferred Experience

• Knowledge of Microsoft office, Bistrack and IOS applications
