DescriptionDesmond Heating & Cooling Solutions is seeking an experienced Commercial Refrigeration Technician to join our team. This is a full-time position serving Delaware, Chester County, Philadelphia, and surrounding regions. You’ll work with a locally owned company known for professionalism, reliability, and quality workmanship, providing installation, service, and maintenance of commercial refrigeration systems.
Responsibilities- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair commercial refrigeration systems, including walk-in coolers, freezers, display cases, ice machines, and chillers.
- Install new refrigeration units, compressors, and controls according to manufacturer specifications and local codes.
- Conduct preventive maintenance to ensure system reliability, safety, and efficiency.
- Perform leak detection, refrigerant recovery, and system charging in compliance with EPA regulations.
- Service electrical and mechanical components related to refrigeration equipment.
- Respond promptly to emergency service calls and complete repairs efficiently.
- Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.
- Maintain accurate service reports, refrigerant logs, and equipment records.
- Communicate effectively with clients, contractors, and supervisors about findings and recommendations.
Qualifications- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in commercial refrigeration service and repair.
- EPA Section 608 Certification required.
- Strong knowledge of walk-in coolers, freezers, ice machines, and supermarket systems.
- Proficient with electrical troubleshooting and refrigeration controls.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple service calls daily.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- OSHA certification preferred.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus.
