We are seeking an experienced Metal Stud, Drywall & Acoustical Ceiling Foreman to lead field crews on commercial construction projects. This position is responsible for planning daily work, maintaining production schedules, ensuring quality workmanship, promoting a culture of safety, and serving as the primary field leader for assigned projects.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Leadership & Supervision
- Lead and supervise field crews and subcontractors while promoting teamwork and accountability.
- Assign daily tasks and ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and to company quality standards.
- Train, mentor, and develop crew members to improve performance and craftsmanship.
- Maintain a professional jobsite culture and address performance issues as they arise.
- Coordinate manpower and equipment needs with project management.
Safety
- Promote and enforce all PEC safety policies and OSHA regulations.
- Conduct daily safety meetings/toolbox talks as required.
- Identify and immediately correct unsafe conditions or work practices.
- Ensure proper use of PPE, lifts, scaffolding, ladders, powder-actuated tools, and other equipment.
Project Execution
Interpret blueprints, shop drawings, specifications, and project schedules.
Coordinate daily work activities to maintain project schedules and production goals.
Install and oversee installation of:- Metal stud framing
- Drywall systems
- Acoustical ceilings
- FRP panels
- Finish carpentry as required
- Specialty ceiling systems
Coordinate with other trades to minimize conflicts and maximize productivity.
Maintain a clean and organized jobsite.
Quality Control
- Inspect work daily to ensure compliance with plans, specifications, and company quality standards.
- Identify deficiencies and ensure timely corrections.
- Protect completed work from damage.
Documentation & Communication
- Complete daily reports accurately and on time.
- Maintain written and photographic documentation of work completed, safety observations, delays, weather conditions, and jobsite issues.
- Report schedule concerns, material shortages, change orders, and field conflicts to the Project Manager.
- Maintain positive relationships with customers, general contractors, inspectors, suppliers, and fellow employees.
Equipment & Materials
- Coordinate material deliveries and verify quantities.
- Ensure proper storage and protection of materials.
- Maintain company tools and equipment in safe working condition.
Other Duties
- Assist with project planning and manpower forecasting.
- Participate in project meetings as required.
- Perform other duties assigned by management.
Minimum Qualifications
5+ years of commercial metal stud framing and drywall experience.
Minimum 3 years of experience as a Foreman leading commercial construction crews.
Extensive knowledge of:- Metal stud framing
- Drywall installation
- Drywall finishing
- Acoustical ceilings
- FRP installation
- Commercial construction practices
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and specifications.
Strong leadership and crew management skills.
Excellent communication and organizational abilities.
Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced construction environment.
Working knowledge of project scheduling and production planning.
Experience using construction software such as Bluebeam, PlanGrid, Procore, PDF Expert, or similar platforms preferred.
Valid driver's license with reliable transportation.
Willingness to travel as project needs require.
Must pass pre-employment drug screening and background check.
Physical Requirements
- Frequently lift and carry up to 75 pounds.
- Stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, and work overhead for extended periods.
- Work from ladders, scaffolding, aerial lifts, and stilts.
- Safely operate powder-actuated tools, lasers, and other construction equipment.
- Work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bilingual (English/Spanish)
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 Certification
- Forklift, Scissor Lift, or Boom Lift certifications
- Experience with specialty ceiling systems
- Experience supervising multiple crews on large commercial projects
