Job Overview:

Position Summary

The Commercial Plumber is responsible for the installation, maintenance, repair, and service of commercial plumbing systems across a variety of project types and building classifications. Working independently or as the lead tradesperson on a crew, this role requires a working knowledge of commercial plumbing codes, the ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications, and a consistent commitment to quality and safety on active job sites.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

● Install, repair, and maintain commercial plumbing systems including domestic hot and cold water, sanitary and storm drainage, natural gas, and compressed air piping.

● Read and interpret blueprints, isometric drawings, plumbing specifications, and riser diagrams; lay out work in accordance with design documents and applicable codes.

● Rough-in and set fixtures in commercial, institutional, and light industrial environments (restrooms, mechanical rooms, kitchens, utility areas).

● Perform pipe fabrication and assembly using copper, cast iron, CPVC, PVC, black iron, and stainless steel, using appropriate joining methods (soldering, threading, grooved, press-fit).

● Execute service and repair calls including diagnostic evaluation of plumbing system failures, root cause identification, and corrective action.

● Coordinate work with general contractors, site superintendents, and other trades to maintain project schedules and site standards.

● Ensure compliance with local plumbing codes (IPC/UPC), OSHA regulations, and company safety policies at all times.

● Maintain and care for company tools, vehicles, and equipment; report any deficiencies to supervision promptly.

● Complete daily work orders, time sheets, and material requisitions accurately and on time.

● Mentor and provide on-the-job direction to Plumber Helpers assigned to the crew.

Qualifications

● Minimum 5 years of verifiable commercial plumbing experience; new construction, tenant improvement, and/or service work experience preferred.

● PA and/or NJ Journeyman Plumber license strongly preferred; candidates in process of licensure with demonstrated experience will be considered.

● Proficiency in reading commercial construction documents, MEP drawings, and specifications.

● Working knowledge of applicable plumbing codes (IPC, local amendments) and OSHA 10 or 30 certification (or willingness to obtain).

● Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and manage time effectively across multiple job sites.

● Valid driver's license with clean driving record; ability to operate company vehicles.

● Physical ability to lift up to 75 lbs., work in confined spaces, climb ladders and scaffolding, and perform overhead work for extended periods.

● Strong communication skills and professional demeanor; ability to interact respectfully with clients, GC personnel, and inspectors.

Preferred Qualifications

● Experience with backflow prevention testing and certification.

● Familiarity with preventive maintenance programs and service contract work.

● Experience in healthcare, education, or multi-tenant commercial construction environments.

● Prior experience supervising helpers or small crews.We are looking to hire a licensed plumber to serve the Philadelphia and South Jersey market. The ideal candidate will: be licensed; have 5+ yrs. experience in commercial construction and service; capable of reading prints; have experience with various pipe materials and systems, and have experience with underground installations. Compensation & Benefits

●Hourly rate: $34.00 – $46.00/hr commensurate with experience and licensure.

●Overtime eligible (time-and-a-half over 40 hours per week).
