Job Description

Our client in Mentor, OH is seeking an experienced Lead Loading Dock & Commercial Door Technician to oversee installation, service, maintenance, and repair of loading dock equipment, overhead doors, dock levelers, dock seals, and commercial/industrial door systems. This role will lead field projects, mentor junior technicians, and ensure quality workmanship and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Install, service, troubleshoot, and repair commercial overhead doors and loading dock equipment
• Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues
• Lead and train apprentice and junior technicians
• Coordinate daily job assignments and project completion
• Perform preventive maintenance inspections
• Ensure proper documentation of service work and parts usage
• Maintain compliance with all safety regulations and company standards
• Communicate professionally with customers regarding repairs and recommendations

Qualifications

• 5+ years of commercial door and loading dock equipment experience (Open to Apprentice-type candidates as well, at a lower pay scale)
• Strong mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic troubleshooting skills
• Experience leading crews or mentoring technicians
• Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals
• Valid driver's license with clean driving record
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work at heights
