Job Overview:

Commercial HVAC Service Tech — RTUs to Chillers

Addison, TX | $28–$50/hr | M–F + OT opportunities

\> Full-range commercial techs — RTUs to centrifugal chillers — top of the pay band is yours. Strong on RTUs but new to chillers? We'll teach you.

Established commercial mechanical contractor in the DFW/Addison area is hiring two experienced commercial HVAC techs. The book of business runs the full commercial range — rooftops, RTUs, split systems, packaged units, chillers, and centrifugal — and pay scales with depth across all of it. 5+ years of commercial work is the floor; bring real chiller and centrifugal hands on top and you're at $50/hr. No chiller experience yet? If your commercial fundamentals are solid, we'll bring you up to speed.

What you'll actually do day-to-day

  • Service and troubleshoot the full commercial HVAC range across DFW — RTUs, split systems, packaged units, and chillers
  • Diagnose and repair chillers (water-cooled, air-cooled, centrifugal) and supporting equipment
  • Run preventive maintenance on cooling towers, pumps, and refrigeration loops
  • Read prints and equipment schematics, document service tickets cleanly
  • Communicate with property managers and building engineers on-site
  • Handle warranty calls, callbacks, and emergency service rotations as needed

What you bring

  • 5+ years commercial HVAC service experience across RTUs, packaged units, and rooftops (commercial buildings, light industrial)
  • EPA Universal certification (required)
  • Real chiller / centrifugal experience commands the top of the pay band — but if you've got strong commercial fundamentals, we'll train you on the chiller side
  • Clean driving record
  • Comfortable working solo on service calls and reading equipment schematics
  • Self-motivated — can troubleshoot complex commercial systems without hand-holding

Why guys take this job and stay

  • $28–$50/hr based on experience — chiller and centrifugal depth pays the top end
  • Major Medical PPO and HDHP options, dental, vision, FSA/HSA
  • 100% employer-paid life insurance and long-term disability
  • 401k with company match (3% match at 6% contribution)
  • 5–21 days PTO scaling with tenure, plus 8 paid holidays
  • Company truck, gas card, and toll tag for qualifying techs
  • Company phone or phone allowance
  • $300/yr tool & boot allowance
  • Paid renewal of job-specific licenses and certifications
  • Embroidered work shirts replenished as needed

The bottom line

You want commercial work, real equipment range, and pay that recognizes what you've actually done — not residential service calls or new-construction sheet metal. EPA Universal and 5+ years of commercial puts you in the chair fast. Strong on RTUs and packaged units but new to chillers? We'll teach you. Bring chiller and centrifugal hands already and you're at $50/hr.
