About the Role

We are seeking a skilled HVAC Service Technician to provide expert maintenance and repair services for a variety of commercial and industrial HVAC systems. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical knowledge, hands‑on experience with heating and cooling systems, and the ability to interpret schematics and design plans. Knowledge of plumbing and electrical systems is a plus.

This role involves field service work across diverse commercial and industrial settings, ensuring optimal operation of air conditioning units, boilers, refrigeration systems, and other mechanical equipment. A valid driver’s license is required for travel between job sites.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance and repair of HVAC systems and related mechanical equipment

• Diagnose issues using schematics, design plans, and diagnostic tools (ohmmeters, refrigeration testing equipment, etc.)

• Troubleshoot electrical components and mechanical systems to identify faults and implement solutions

• Maintain detailed service records and ensure compliance with safety standards and building codes

• Assist with property maintenance tasks related to HVAC/R systems

• Operate tools and machinery including power tools, diagnostic instruments, and hand tools

• Ensure work areas are clean, safe, and organized

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a service technician in HVAC/R or related fields (construction, property maintenance, appliance repair)

• Strong mechanical knowledge with hands‑on experience in heating/air conditioning systems and equipment repair

• Familiarity with schematics, HVAC design principles, and field service procedures

• Experience with plumbing, electrical, and ammonia refrigeration systems a plus

• Prior welding or boiler maintenance experience a plus

• Ability to operate HVAC diagnostic tools effectively

• Valid driver’s license and good driving record

Technical Skill Set

• DX heating and cooling packaged units, split systems

• Geothermal systems

• VRF systems

• Hydronic heating, cooling, and process systems

• Boilers and gas heating systems

• Ventilation systems and HVAC controls

• Chillers and cooling towers (a plus)

General & Soft Skills

• Strong troubleshooting skills; reliable and punctual

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift 50+ lbs

• Comfortable working at heights, rooftops, attics, basements, and varying temperatures

• Willing and able to be on‑call

• Able to stand, bend, stoop, and reach for extended periods
