As a
Project Manager, you will be responsible for leading chiller and mechanical service projects from initial planning through completion. You will work closely with customers, field technicians, subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, on schedule, and within budget.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
- Review project estimates, scopes of work, contracts, and customer requirements to establish project objectives and initiate project kickoff activities.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers, technicians, subcontractors, vendors, and internal team members.
- Provide leadership and direction throughout all phases of assigned projects.
- Coordinate project schedules, manpower, materials, equipment, subcontractors, and other resources required for successful execution.
- Monitor project financial performance, including budgets, costs, change orders, billing, and overall profitability.
- Prepare accurate project forecasts and communicate financial and operational performance to company leadership.
- Identify potential project risks and develop solutions to maintain safety, schedule, quality, and customer expectations.
- Review project progress regularly and proactively address issues that could affect cost, schedule, or customer satisfaction.
- Coordinate with field personnel to ensure work is performed according to plans, specifications, manufacturer requirements, and applicable codes.
- Manage customer communication and provide timely updates regarding project status, schedules, costs, and potential changes.
- Assist with estimating, proposals, change orders, and project closeout activities as needed.
- Maintain accurate project documentation using company systems and digital workflows.
- Support a culture of safety, accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
- Identify opportunities to improve processes, increase efficiency, and deliver greater value to customers.
Experience
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in mechanical construction, HVAC, chiller service, or a closely related industry.
- Previous experience managing mechanical, HVAC, chiller, or service projects preferred.
- Experience coordinating field technicians, subcontractors, vendors, and customers strongly preferred.
- Experience with project budgets, forecasting, RFI's, change orders, and financial performance is a plus.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Strong understanding of commercial HVAC, mechanical systems, and/or chiller equipment.
- Ability to effectively lead and coordinate project teams while maintaining accountability and professionalism.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build strong customer and professional relationships.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
- Working knowledge of project financial management, budgeting, forecasting, and profitability.
- Strong problem-solving, negotiation, and conflict-resolution skills.
- Ability to read and understand project plans, specifications, scopes of work, and technical documentation.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel.
- Experience with construction or project management software preferred.
- Ability to navigate commercial and industrial job sites and communicate effectively with field personnel.

- Ability to work independently while contributing effectively as part of a team.
