Job Overview:

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Support Martin Marietta's safety culture and regulatory compliance by adhering to company safety policies and procedures.
  • Support and improve commercial tools and systems, including CRM structure, data quality, pipeline visibility, dashboards, and reporting
  • Analyze commercial activity and performance data to identify trends, bottlenecks, and opportunities to improve sales and business development effectiveness.
  • Identify and help implement improvements to commercial processes, tools, and coordination across Account Management and Business Development.
  • Maintain and organize market and competitive intelligence, including competitor activity, customer needs, industry trends, and potential growth opportunities.
  • Conduct lead generation, prospect research, market mapping, and targeted customer research using commercial databases, public information, governmental sources, and industry resources.
  • Support targeted customer and opportunity development, including prospective customers, inactive or lost accounts, smaller accounts, and other defined growth areas.
  • Develop and maintain visibility into distributor and channel relationships, including products represented, geographic coverage, market focus, gaps, and areas of overlap.
  • Manage and organize commercial agreements, including NDAs and supply agreements, and track key dates, renewal requirements, and related documentation.
  • Support coordination and follow-through as opportunities move between Business Development, R&D, and Account Management, helping maintain clear ownership, next steps, and momentum.


Travel Requirements:

Travel is expected to be approximately 10% to customers, production facilities, industry events, and other Martin Marietta locations.

Requirements:

  • Five or more years of experience in sales, customer service, business development, commercial operations, market analysis, or another related business role.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify opportunities for improvement, take initiative, and move ideas forward with limited direction.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to organize information, identify patterns, and translate findings into practical actions.
  • Experience with CRM systems, data analysis, reporting tools, or other commercial systems.
  • Ability to conduct customer, market, and competitive research and organize findings into useful commercial information.
  • Strong business judgment and curiosity about how customers, markets, products, operations, and commercial priorities connect.
  • Self-directed, able to work independently, and willing to take initiative to identify opportunities for improvement and consistently move work forward.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively across commercial and operational teams while communicating clearly with internal teams, customers, and prospects.
  • Bachelor's degree required. A degree in business, marketing, analytics, engineering, chemistry, or a related field is preferred.
