Job Overview:

Job Summary

Coilers are an integral part of the operations and are provided with tasks that are technically challenging and stimulating. Under the guidance of the Coiling Team Lead, the Coiler supports manufacturing processes, by setting up and operating Coiler equipment. The individual in this role will be responsible for all quality and documentation associated with production of parts.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Set up and operate coiler machines.
  • Prepare and maintain setup information.
  • Identify problems and make improvements (root cause analysis).
  • Maintain tooling and equipment related to coiler operations.
  • Review, investigation and completion of required daily documentation.
  • Assure good housekeeping and machine maintenance practices.
  • Maintain all safety and employee policies and report any infractions or concerns to management.


Skills & Abilities:

  • Ability set up coiling machines independently.
  • Ability to perform quality checks on parts utilizing the proper instruments.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented, manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to work flexible hours and over time when required to meet customer demand.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail with an emphasis on quality work.


Education & Experience:

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 to 5 years’ experience in setting up and operating coiler machines required, the Torin 00 and F-Z preferred.
  • Blueprint Reading GD&T required.
  • Computer programing as related to coiling equipment preferred.
  • Experience with machines such as grinders, mills, etc. preferred.


Physical Requirements:

Paragon Medical- Southington is a manufacturing environment. The employee must be able to remain in a stationary position including sitting or standing for prolonged periods of time. The employee is expected to perform actions that include bending, kneeling, or crouching, ascend up/down a latter, reach, push, and/or pull objects. The employee will be required to communicate with others and work in a noise environment.
