Position Overview
The Inventory Control Supervisor is responsible for ensuring inventory accuracy, integrity, and compliance across both snack and coffee manufacturing operations. This position combines hands-on inventory management activities, including cycle counts, physical inventories, and warehouse process monitoring, with administrative responsibilities such as reconciliations, reporting, SOP development, fixed asset tracking, root cause analysis, and continuous process improvement. The successful candidate will serve as the primary liaison between operations and the Corporate Office for inventory-related matters while partnering closely with production, warehousing, procurement, quality, and finance teams to support efficient food manufacturing operations.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and execute cycle count programs, annual physical inventories, and targeted inventory audits.
Monitor inventory accuracy and investigate variances through detailed reconciliation and root cause analysis.
Develop, maintain, and improve inventory-related SOPs, controls, and best practices where appropriate. For established corporate SOPs ensure Business Unit Compliance.
Serve as the primary contact for corporate inventory requests, reporting requirements, and compliance initiatives.
Maintain the Fixed Asset Register and ensure accurate asset tracking and documentation.
Support Warehouse Management team with warehouse labeling and slotting accuracy
Analyze inventory reports, identify risks, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
Partner with production, warehouse, purchasing, quality assurance, and finance teams to ensure inventory integrity.
Support Food Safety Manager with food safety, traceability, lot control, FIFO, inventory practices, kosher and organic certification compliance, and recall readiness requirements
Monitor product movement, adjustments, shrink, obsolete inventory, and inventory aging trends
Partner with procurement to monitor inventory levels, resolve supply or receiving discrepancies, support demand planning efforts where appropriate, and ensure inventory availability aligns with business requirements
Assist with warehouse process improvements and inventory optimization initiatives.
Ensure accurate system transactions and inventory records within ERP and warehouse systems.
Provide leadership and guidance for inventory procedures and count activities.
Assist other departments and perform additional duties as assigned.
This position is primarily scheduled Monday through Friday during daytime business hours with some scheduling flexibility. Occasional nights, weekends, and extended hours may be required to support inventories, audits, operational needs, or business initiatives. The role requires work in both office and warehouse/manufacturing environments and may involve prolonged standing, walking, bending, twisting, lifting, and operating around material handling equipment.
