Job Description

Riverpoint Medical in Northeast Portland is hiring for the position of Coating Technician. At Riverpoint you will be part of the process that brings great technology to Medical, Dental and Veterinary markets. We specialize in the design and manufacturing of premium medical devices. Our ingenuity can be found in our suture technologies, sports medicine fibers and anchors, surgical lighting, and special needle technologies. The Coating Technician will work in manufacturing to support production processes. They will be responsible for putting together products using manufacturing equipment. The Coating Technician will work Monday through Thursday, from 6am-4:30pm.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Lead the coating operation of manufacturing medical devices with proper documentation and attention to work instruction including production scheduling and reporting
• Safely operating machinery with chemicals and reporting any faults to management.
• Properly handling and mixing of chemicals.  Loading and operating machinery.
• Working in a cleanroom environment and adhering to personnel protective equipment guidelines.
• Performing and monitoring preventative maintenance on machinery.
• Identifying problems and suggesting improvements.

Education and Qualifications 

• Some college a plus, high school diploma or equivalent required

• 5+ years of experience as an assembly worker
• Excellent math, verbal, and written communication skills
• Chemical handling safety experience 
• Lean manufacturing experience
• Able to interpret performance data of machinery
• Strong work ethic, a proactive mindset and analytical thinking skills.
• Dexterity for handling small products
• Ability to work well on a team and be self-motivated when working alone 
• Good observational skills, good organizational and time management skills
