Job Overview:

Position Overview

We are seeking experienced CNC/Manual Machinists to join our manufacturing team in Siler City, NC. This is a hands-on machining position for a complete machinist who can independently set up, program, edit, and operate both CNC and manual machines.

The successful candidate will be comfortable working from drawings and taking parts from the machining stage through to finished components used in the company’s industrial machinery and conveyor systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate CNC and manual lathes and mills.
  • Program and edit CNC programs as needed for production.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, shop drawings, and machining specifications.
  • Select appropriate tooling, speeds, feeds, and machining methods.
  • Set up machines and make necessary adjustments to produce quality parts.
  • Inspect finished and in-process components using appropriate precision measuring tools.
  • Troubleshoot machining issues and make adjustments independently.
  • Produce components to required dimensions and specifications.
  • Work with a variety of metal materials and industrial components.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
  • Follow established safety and quality procedures.
  • Work independently while maintaining production schedules and quality standards.

Qualifications

  • Previous professional experience as a CNC/Manual Machinist or comparable role.
  • Demonstrated experience operating both CNC and manual machining equipment.
  • Strong experience with CNC programming and editing — this is not a run-only CNC operator position.
  • Hands-on experience with both lathes and mills.
  • Ability to independently perform machine setups.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Strong understanding of machining processes, tooling, measurements, and tolerances.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is a well-rounded, experienced machinist who can take a job from setup through completion without needing to be walked through the process.

Candidates with only basic CNC machine-operation experience or experience limited to running pre-programmed jobs may not be a fit. The client is specifically looking for someone with the broader capabilities of a complete machinist, including programming/editing, manual machining, setup, and independent troubleshooting.

Work Environment

  • Clean, well-maintained industrial manufacturing facility.
  • Approximately 20–25 employees on the production floor.
  • Work is part of a full manufacturing process producing industrial machinery and conveyor systems.
  • Primarily a straight day-shift schedule.
  • Some overtime may be available.

Employment Requirements

  • Successful completion of a standard background check.
  • Successful completion of a 4-panel drug screen (no THC).
  • Reliable attendance and ability to work the scheduled shift.
