We’re seeking a detail-oriented CNC/Manual Machinist to support our Engineering and Production teams in building high-quality tooling and fixtures that support life-saving products. This hands-on role requires expert use of manual machining equipment and close collaboration with technical teams to ensure quality and compliance in a regulated environment.
Summary/objective
We are currently seeking a Precision Machinist to join our Machine Shop team. This role is responsible for building tooling and fixturing that support engineering development and production operations. The ideal candidate will be highly skilled in manual machining, blueprint interpretation, and working within a regulated, high-precision environment.
Essential functions
Operate a variety of manual machine tools with precision and accuracy
Build custom fixtures and tooling for use in production and R&D
Interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and technical sketches
Collaborate with Engineering and Production teams to refine processes and component designs
Lay out materials for optimal usage and time efficiency
Utilize measuring instruments and inspection tools to verify tolerances
Maintain a clean, organized, and safety-conscious workspace
Accurately document modifications and measurements
Required education and experience.
5+ years of experience in manual machining or precision tooling (medical device industry strongly preferred)
High school diploma or GED required; vocational/technical training a plus
Strong understanding of metallurgy and heat treatment of steels
Ability to sketch existing components and reverse-engineer parts
Proficient in the use of calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and other precision measuring tools
Comfortable working in a regulated (FDA/ISO) environment
Strong problem-solving and time management skills
