CNC Vertical Machinist

Location: Placentia, California

Pay: $28–$35 per hour, depending on experience

Shifts Available: 2nd & 3rd Shift

2nd Shift: 1:00 PM–9:30 PM

3rd Shift: 9:00 PM–5:30 AM

Schedule: Monday–Friday

Our client is a leading designer and manufacturer of aircraft latches and latching systems with more than 80 years of aerospace heritage. Their highly engineered components support commercial, military and space programmes.

Due to continued demand, they are looking to add experienced CNC Vertical Machinists to their 2nd and 3rd shift teams in Placentia, CA.

The Role

As a CNC Vertical Machinist, you will be responsible for setting up and operating vertical CNC milling equipment to manufacture precision aerospace components.

You'll work from engineering drawings and CNC programmes, make the necessary tooling and machine adjustments, and inspect finished components to ensure they meet strict dimensional and quality requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Set up and operate** **3 and 4-axis vertical CNC milling machines
• Prepare machines and tooling for scheduled production jobs
• Read and interpret engineering blueprints and technical instructions
• Adjust tooling and machine settings according to CNC programmes
• Make necessary adjustments to maintain required tolerances
• Monitor machining operations and part quality throughout production
• Inspect finished components against blueprint requirements
• Use precision measuring equipment including micrometers and calipers
• Perform routine machine cleaning, lubrication and inspections
• Maintain consistent quality within a structured aerospace production environment

What We're Looking For

• 3–6 years of machine shop experience
• Strong vertical CNC milling experience
• Hands-on CNC setup and operating experience
• Experience with 3 or 4-axis CNC equipment
• Ability to confidently read and interpret engineering blueprints
• Experience using micrometers, calipers and other precision measuring equipment
• Strong understanding of tolerances and dimensional requirements
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality
• Ability to work independently and follow technical instructions
• Aerospace or other high-precision manufacturing experience is highly beneficial
• Availability to work** **2nd or 3rd shift
