KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist in the setup of CNC Swiss machines for production runs, including loading materials, securing workpieces, and installing tooling
- Learn to interpret engineering drawings, models, and specifications to understand machining requirements
- Assist in the operation of CNC Swiss machines to produce parts with tight tolerances and complex geometries
- Learn basic CNC programming skills to input tool offsets, adjust machine settings, and perform minor program edits
- Perform basic maintenance tasks on CNC Swiss machines, including cleaning, lubricating, and replacing worn or damaged components
- Monitor machining processes and make adjustments as directed by senior operators or supervisors to ensure quality and efficiency
- Inspect machined parts using precision measuring instruments to verify conformance to specifications
- Assist in troubleshooting machining issues and identifying opportunities for process improvement
- Adhere to safety protocols and procedures at all times, including proper handling and operation of CNC machines and equipment
- Maintain a clean and organized work area to ensure a safe and productive work environment
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Previous experience in a manufacturing or machining environment is preferred
- Strong mechanical aptitude and manual dexterity, with the ability to operate hand tools and machinery
- Ability to learn and follow instructions, procedures, and safety guidelines
- Attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work
- Willingness to learn and develop new skills in CNC machining and programming
- Effective communication and teamwork skills
EDUCATION
- High school diploma
- 2-year technical certification or equivalent experience preferred.
