Description

Projects Inc. is seeking an experienced CNC Swiss Machine Setup & Operator to join our team. Projects Inc. is a manufacturer of complex small, machined components for the Aerospace and Power Systems industries and has been in business for over fifty years. The qualified candidate will be a high energy and motivated individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment. 

Responsibilities include:

  • Operate and set up Swiss-style CNC Machines to produce precision parts for various industries, including medical devices, aerospace, and automotive.
  • Read and interpret complex technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications to ensure accurate machining processes.
  • Select appropriate tools, inserts, and machine parameters to optimize machining efficiency and part quality.
  • Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on Swiss machines to ensure optimal performance.
  • Collaborate with engineering and quality assurance teams to refine machining processes and improve product quality.
  • Conduct in-process inspections and quality checks to ensure parts meet specified tolerances and standards.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment.

Requirements

  

Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Technical certification or associate degree in machining, manufacturing technology, or a related field preferred.

Required Skills and Experience

  • 3+ years of experience as a Swiss Machinist in a precision fabrication environment.
  • Proficient in operating and setting up Swiss-style CNC lathes and machines.
  • Strong understanding of machining principles, tooling, and fixture design.
  • Ability to read and interpret complex technical drawings and specifications.
  • Familiarity with geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with programming CNC machines using CAM software.
  • Knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles and practices.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
