About the Role

A globally recognized CNC machine tool manufacturer in Schaumburg, IL is looking for a skilled CNC Spindle Repair Technician to join their growing Spindle Rebuild and Service Support division. In this role you will be responsible for the full repair lifecycle of high-speed CNC spindles — from mechanical disassembly and inspection through precision machining, reassembly, and final testing. This is a hands-on, precision-focused role for someone who takes pride in quality workmanship and can work independently with minimal supervision.

This is a direct hire opportunity with a full benefits package and strong long-term growth potential — the company anticipates needing 2-3 technicians as they continue to expand.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Mechanically disassemble, inspect, repair, reassemble, and test high-speed CNC spindles
  • Perform precision machining operations using manual lathe and grinder
  • Use micrometers, dial indicators, torque wrenches, and dynamic balancing equipment throughout the repair process
  • Diagnose faults and execute corrective actions to restore spindles to spec
  • Read and interpret blueprints, technical manuals, and schematics
  • Maintain accurate repair documentation and communicate status with engineering and customer service teams
  • Occasional short-notice field service travel including overnight and weekend trips

What We're Looking For

  • Minimum 2 years of CNC spindle repair, industrial maintenance, or precision mechanical work
  • Proficient with precision measuring tools — micrometers, dial indicators, torque wrenches, dynamic balancing equipment
  • Manual lathe and grinding experience
  • Ability to read blueprints, manuals, and diagrams
  • Willingness to travel on short notice including overnight and weekends
  • Strong documentation and computer skills
  • Detail-oriented, self-starter, quality-focused mindset

Nice to Have

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial or Systems Engineering
  • CNC machine operation and basic G-code programming
  • Experience coordinating with engineering and customer service teams

Benefits

  • 401(k)
  • Health, Vision & Dental Insurance
  • Life Insurance & Short-Term Disability
  • PTO (vacation, sick, and holidays)
  • Employee Referral Program
  • Competitive pay based on experience

Requirements

  • Must have hands-on spindle repair or precision mechanical experience — purely theoretical or software-only backgrounds will not be considered
