CNC Setup/ Operator
CompX Grayslake is a leading manufacturer of highly engineered mechanical and electromechanical locking devices, systems for world class original equipment manufacturers and manufacture of precision instruments, throttles, marine products, and accessories.
Position Responsibilities:
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints to understand part specifications.
- Monitor machine operation during production runs, identifying and addressing potential issues.
- Strong attention to detail and quality control.
- Conduct in-process inspections using precision measuring tools to ensure part quality meets specifications.
- Make adjustments to machine settings as necessary to maintain consistent quality.
- Document production data and maintain quality control records.
- Adhere to safety protocols and procedures when operating CNC machines.
- Knowledge of CNC programming languages (G-code, M-code).
- Experience with various CNC machine types (mills, lathes, etc.)
- Familiarity with precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, dial indicators).
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Mechanical aptitude and understanding of machining processes.
- Ability to troubleshoot and solve technical problems.
- Familiarity with DMG Mori Lathes and Mills a plus.
Minimum Skills, Knowledge and Ability Requirements:
- Minimum of 5-7 years’ experience.
- High School Diploma, Associates Degree, or Certification.
- Formal education in CNC machining preferred.
- Ability to lift up to 35 lbs.
- Overtime may be required, including weekends when necessary.
- Frequently standing and walking for 8 hours.
- Frequent use of hands to manipulate, handle or feel material.
Second shift premium $4.00 per hour.
