CNC Setup Operator
Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced CNC Setup Operator to support our machining operations. This role focuses on machine setup, tooling configuration, and program validation to ensure high-quality production of precision parts. The ideal candidate will be skilled in interpreting blueprints and preparing CNC equipment for efficient and accurate operation.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up CNC mills and lathes by installing tooling, fixtures, and jigs according to blueprints
- Load and verify CNC programs to ensure proper operation (no programming required)
- Perform first article inspections to confirm parts meet specifications
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to machine setup, tooling, or program execution
- Make necessary adjustments to machine offsets, speeds, and feeds for new jobs
- Ensure consistent product quality while working with various materials
Equipment & Materials
- CNC Mills (Milling Machines) and CNC Lathes (Turning Centers)
- FANUC and TUMA-controlled machines
- Materials: stainless steel, cast iron, and aluminum
Qualifications
3–4 years of experience as a CNC Setup Operator
Strong understanding of:- Blueprint reading
- G-code fundamentals
- Basic shop mathematics
Ability to set up machines independently and validate production readiness
Must supply and maintain own hand tools
