CNC Machine Setup Tech – Direct Hire!

Our client in Gilberts, IL is looking for a CNC Machine Setup Techto join their team on a direct hire basis! In this position, you will set up and operate CNC production machinery—including lathes, mills, and Swiss-type machines—while ensuring all parts meet quality and precision standards.

Hours:Monday – Friday | 7:00 am – 3:00 pm

Pay:$30/hr, based on skills and experience

CNC Machine Setup Tech Responsibilities:

• Set up CNC lathes, mills, and Swiss-type machines with proper tooling, fixtures, and offsets
• Adjust feeds, speeds, and wear offsets to maintain tight tolerances
• Perform first-piece, in-process, and final inspections using micrometers, calipers, indicators, and precision gauges
• Diagnose and correct tooling wear, alignment issues, and Swiss guide-bushing accuracy
• Read and interpret blueprints, process sheets, and GD&T requirements
• Perform basic G/M-code adjustments as needed to maintain quality

CNC Machine Setup Tech Qualifications:

• Previous CNC setup and operation experience (including Swiss-type turning)
• Strong ability to read blueprints and apply GD&T
• Skilled with precision measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, and indicators
• Solid mechanical aptitude for offsets, tooling changes, and machine adjustments
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
