Job Overview:

We are seeking an experienced CNC Setup Machinist who takes pride in producing precision components with a strong focus on quality and efficiency. This position is ideal for a highly skilled machinist with a solid understanding of complex setups, tooling, GD&T, and process optimization. Experience with Swiss-style machining or multi-turret/multi-spindle turning is highly desired.

Responsibilities

  • Interpret blueprints and engineering drawings to determine the most efficient manufacturing process.
  • Read and understand G & M code required for part production.
  • Set up tooling and holders within multiple turrets and accurately touch off or indicate tools across all machine axes.
  • Calculate speeds and feeds to achieve required surface finishes and maximize productivity.
  • Apply advanced knowledge of fixturing and workholding techniques.
  • Perform in-process and final inspections using precision measuring equipment.
  • Utilize Statistical Process Control (SPC) methods to monitor tool wear and maintain tolerances.
  • Troubleshoot machining issues and recommend process improvements.
  • Support new product development and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain a strong commitment to quality, safety, and on-time delivery.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of CNC machining experience required.
  • Experience with Swiss-style machining or multi-turret/multi-spindle turning is strongly preferred.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Technical degree in Machine Tool Technology or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Strong understanding of GD&T and blueprint reading.
  • Proficient with precision measuring tools including micrometers, calipers, indicators, and gauges.
  • Ability to interpret and navigate G & M code.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
  • Creative problem solver with a "right-first-time" mindset.
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality parts.
