CNC Setup Machinist – Lathe & Milling | $25–$35/hr

Location: Cincinnati, OH

Pay Rate: $25.00–$35.00 per hour (DOE)

Employment Type: Full-Time

Shift: 1st Shift | Flexible Start Between 6:00 AM and 7:00 AM

Overtime: Available based on workload

Position Summary

Precision Staffing Services is recruiting skilled CNC Setup Machinists and CNC Operators for a well-established precision manufacturing facility in Cincinnati, Ohio.

This opportunity is ideal for an experienced machinist who enjoys hands-on CNC setup, programming, and producing high-quality custom parts. The position involves CNC turning and milling operations in a clean, climate-controlled machine shop specializing in prototype work and small-to-medium production runs.

What You'll Do

• Independently set up and run CNC lathes and/or vertical machining centers.
• Make machine adjustments and modify CNC programs to meet production specifications.
• Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and GD&T requirements.
• Select appropriate cutting tools, fixtures, and machining methods.
• Produce precision components while maintaining tight tolerances.
• Perform dimensional inspections using micrometers, calipers, and gauges.
• Identify machining issues and assist with equipment troubleshooting.
• Maintain a safe, organized, and efficient work area.

Skills & Experience

• Minimum 3–5 years of hands-on CNC machining experience.
• Proven ability to set up and operate CNC turning or milling equipment.
• Working knowledge of CNC programming, including G-code and M-code.
• Ability to read technical drawings and understand GD&T.
• Experience with Haas, Fanuc, or Mazak machine controls preferred.
• Familiarity with 3-axis or 4-axis CNC milling equipment is a plus.
• Experience with Fusion 360 or GibbsCAM is beneficial.
• Previous experience in a custom machine shop or low-volume production environment preferred.
• Strong mechanical aptitude, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail.
