Set up and operate CNC turning and milling machines. Uses precision measuring instruments to inspect parts, make necessary adjustments to control part processes and hold the highest quality standards. Responsible for daily inspection records, labor reporting, and scheduled machine maintenance. Conducts all activities in a safe manner and follows all safety rules and regulations.
1st and 2nd shift
MACHINE SET-UP
Identify and gather proper tooling, fixtures and jaws for efficient set-up
Install and teach tools into machine
Run/inspect first piece and production parts as required
Make adjustments (offsets/other) until part is machined within specifications
Follow appropriate procedures if part is out of tolerance
PRODUCTION / MACHINE OPERATION
Run more than one machine at the same time as required
Efficiently operate CNC lathes, machining centers and other equipment as required
Inspect cutting tools for sharpness and continued use
Monitor machine operation, detect malfunctions or out of tolerance features, make adjustments as needed to control the process
Report damaged or spent tooling to Supervisor or machine shop manager for repair/replace
SECONDARY TASKS
Deburr, stamp or perform secondary tasks as required
External set-up tasks (prepare for next job by completing set-up procedures and staging while running current job)
Operate other machinery as required
QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or equivalent
Minimum 2 years related experience
Basic math and machining math skills
General computer skills
Must have a working command of the English language
Completion of CNC Machine Operating Program or equivalent
