Job description:
Overview
We are seeking an experienced
CNC Machinist
with strong proficiency in
Okuma machines
to join our weekend shift team. This is a
setup-level role—not entry-level—requiring hands-on experience with CNC machine setup, operation, and troubleshooting. The ideal candidate can work independently, read and interpret complex blueprints, and ensure precision machining with minimal supervision.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up and operate
Okuma CNC lathes and/or mills
according to production requirements.
- Perform full machine setups, including tooling, offsets, work holding, and program adjustments.
- Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, GD&T, and specifications.
- Verify part dimensions using calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and other precision measurement tools.
- Troubleshoot machining issues and adjust programs as needed to maintain quality and efficiency.
- Conduct in-process inspections to ensure parts meet tight tolerances.
- Maintain equipment by performing routine cleaning and basic preventative maintenance.
- Follow safety procedures and uphold quality standards throughout shift operations.
Qualifications
- Required:
Previous hands-on experience operating and setting up
Okuma CNC machines.
- Minimum 2–3 years of CNC machining/setup experience (non–entry level).
- Strong understanding of machining processes, speeds/feeds, and tooling.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical documentation.
- Familiarity with precision measurement tools.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to work independently.
- Ability to work the
full weekend shift (Fri/Sat/Sun).

36 hours, get paid for
40 hours
