PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position leads advanced machining operations, champions innovation in manufacturing processes, and serves as the primary technical expert within the aerospace production team. The role includes high‑level CNC programming, close collaboration with process engineering, and mentoring machinists at all experience levels. By driving precision, efficiency, and adherence to aerospace standards, this role is essential to the success and continuous improvement of our machining operations.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Lead the setup, programming, and operation of complex multi-axis CNC and manual machines.
Develop and implement advanced machining strategies for new and existing aerospace components.
Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams to design and optimize tooling, fixtures, and machining processes.
Conduct advanced inspections using precision instruments; validate critical dimensions and tolerances.
Resolve high-complexity machining issues and support root cause analysis for quality deviations.
Serve as a technical mentor and trainer for Machinist I–III team members.
Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on productivity, quality, and cost reduction.
Ensure full compliance with aerospace quality standards (e.g., AS9100, NADCAP) and internal procedures.
Participate in cross-functional teams for new product introductions and process validations.
Maintain detailed documentation of machining processes, setups, and improvements.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
High school diploma or GED required; associate degree or technical certification strongly preferred.
5-10+ years of machining experience, including advanced CNC programming and aerospace applications.
Proficient in CAD/CAM software and multi-axis machining systems.
Expert in interpreting complex blueprints, GD&T, and aerospace specifications.
Experience with AS9100, NADCAP, and other aerospace quality standards.
Demonstrated leadership and mentoring experience.
Ability to stand for extended periods.
Lift up to 50 lbs. occasionally.
