Job Overview:

CNC Programming and Technical Lead

Description:

Responsibilities Include but not limited to:

  • Works closely with production planning in order to run the most effective product per machine.
  • Continually trains, mentors, coaches and develops the milling team.

- Writes and optimizes CNC programs (Mastercam) and selects the appropriate tooling and machine for each job.

Set-up programs and make necessary adjustments to ensure efficiency and quality.

  • Troubleshoots and solves problems related to machining applications, machining tool paths, and machine operation.
  • Inspects products to verify conformance to specifications and directs setup and adjustments of machines.
  • Checks labor tickets and work orders for completeness and accuracy.
  • Reviews new parts to determine suitability and quotes cycle times/tooling needs.
  • Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.
  • Analyzes production problems, determines root cause and implements corrective/preventive actions.

- Keeps equipment operational by coordinating preventive maintenance and repair services following manufacturer’s instructions and established procedures.

Proactively leads and support continuous improvement activities.

  • Maintains inventory levels of raw materials, tooling, and supplies, and coordinates with purchasing department for replenishment.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Proficient in the use of precision measuring equipment: Optical Comparator, Calipers, Micrometers, Go-NoGo Pins or Gauges, etc.
  • Ability to read drawings or blueprints with standard dimensioning and tolerancing, title blocks.
  • 10 years of CNC 5 axis milling setup and operator experience
  • 5 years of experience with Mastercam including 5 axis.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Knowledge of general shop operating and safety practices

Preferred but Not Required:

  • Familiarity with ISO 13485, and FDA requirements
  • Experience with ERP systems (Infor Visual Experience a plus)
  • Experience with Chiron Mills
  • Lean Manufacturing experience.

You should be proficient in:

  • Equipment Troubleshooting
  • CNC Tooling
  • CNC Programming
  • CNC Machine Repair

Machines & technologies you'll use:

  • CNC Mill (3-4 axis VMC)
