Who We Are:
We have operations in Saint Louis, Missouri, Huntington Beach, California, and Milford, Connecticut, serving local, national and international customers, both military and commercial. The company supplies platform controls, aircraft components, liquid oxygen equipment, and emergency breathing equipment to its customers.
Position Summary:
This role includes programming, editing, and performing complex set ups and operating CNC Machinery to produce precision machined components to print as instructed by Lead or Supervisor.
Essential Duties:
- Ability to write, create, and test CNC programs.
- Creates detailed work set ups, sheets, and books for machinists.
- Create first piece sheets for the machinist to inspect the operation they are machining.
- Ensure the produced CNC programs are optimized.
- Performs adjustments to adhere to established specifications or revisions.
- Verify completed programs by running simulations and/or physically running first production.
- Monitor machining times and optimize it from time to time by recommending new machining techniques and methods to refine existing programs to programmers.
- Maintain the jigs and fixture.
- Troubleshoot and correct machine related part quality issues
- Able to run all machines at full production rate
- Proficient with all blueprint reading, including GD&T
- Ability to set up and run complex parts following set up sheet procedures
- Demonstrate a full commitment to work closely with machinists, programmers, and machine shop supervisors.
- Keep machinery and work area in a clean, safe, maintained, and organized.
- Keep waste low, minimize scrap, use labor efficiently, and account for all parts on jobs.
- Improve on product through-put via additional operations such as multiple machine operation, deburring, cleaning, etc. whenever possible.
- Assist in other areas in order to meet the production needs of Essex and its customers.
- Comply with all PPE and machine guarding as necessary with each job.
Requirements
2-5 years of shop experience, 2-yr trade school completion or equivalent
The pay for this position starts at a minimum of $31.50 per hour when the minimum job requirements are met and goes up based upon a candidate’s experience and qualifications in a similar role. This position is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus based on company performance.
