JOB SUMMARYRMS Inc. is seeking an experienced CNC Programmer with job shop experience to join our expanding team. - Proficient in Mastercam
- Experience programming Lathes, VTLs, HBM, 3 axis milling, 4 axis milling.
- 5 axis milling is preferred but not required.
- Experience in the rotating equipment field preferred but not required.
- Writes programs and modifies existing ones for increased efficiency.
- Creates machinist instructions and determining operational sequences.
- Reviews 3D/2d CAD design blueprints.
- Provides support to machinists during CNC machine set-up.
- Selects appropriate cutting tools, feeds, and speeds.
- Translates instructions into a computer automated manufacturing (CAM) program.
- Proficient in computer use, reading comprehension, active listening, math, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Demonstrates excellent time management, organizational, planning, and mechanical aptitude with knowledge of machine shop work.
- Detail-oriented, self-sufficient, and skilled in handling complex spreadsheets with the ability to work independently.

JOB REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Must have superior computer programming skills.
- Must have excellent reading comprehension skills.
- Experience programming of 2, 3, 4 and 5-axis horizontal and vertical machines.
- Good math skills, especially algebra, trigonometry, and physics.
- Good active listening skills.
- Must have good problem-solving skills.
- Must have excellent time management skills.
- Must have good organizational and planning skills.
- Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Must be mechanically inclined.
- Knowledge of metal shop work.
- Must be highly detail oriented.
- Must be able to work effectively with little or no supervision.
- Must have the ability to write and read complex spreadsheets.
Education:
- High School diploma or equivalent form an accredited school or institution.
- Associates Degree preferred.
- Certifications from accredited technical school or equivalent work-related experience.
Knowledge and/or Skill Requirements:
- Working knowledge of electronics and machine tools.
- Continuing education to learn new techniques as they emerge.
Previous Experience:
- At least 4-6 years of previous experience with programming.
OTHER INFORMATION
- The position will be based full time in our Pearland, TX facility.
- Travel time is expected to be 0 - 5%
- This is a full-time position, with a minimum expectation of 40+ hours per week. Additional hours, including evenings or weekends may be required based on business needs.
- This position can be required to participate in the company random or customer specific drug and alcohol screening and background check.
- Ability to professionally handle stressful situations.
- Able to understand, read, write and speak English.
- Outgoing personality to interact with entire company and customers.
- Organization skills to manage multiple deadlines and priorities.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license.
- Must be able to legally work in the US and provide proper documentation.
- Able to pass a pre-employment drug, alcohol test and background check.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift 30 lbs.
- Ability to sit or stand for long periods of times, able to reach above head, bend and stand.
- Must not have allergies or issues related to handling metals including aluminum, copper, bronze, and steel.
Work Environment
While performing the duties of this position, the employee will routinely enter a shop environment and will be exposed to moving mechanical parts. While the work area may be described as generally clean, safe, and "not loud", there will be machining operations that generate moderate noise and metal particles.
