o Second shift – Monday through Thursday 1:00-11:00 PM (with a $.75/hour shift premium)Essential Duties and 


Responsibilities include the following:

  • Design/develop programs, set up, operate and monitor various Mazak CNC turning centers with live tooling
  • Program on-line
  • Prepare tools and secure parts into machines.
  • Install program and correlate machine position with controls. Manual cycle machine through operator sequence to check fixture and/or work positions, tooling, clearances, speeds and feeds.
  • Recognize, report and correct errors. Record production deviations and other notations necessary to produce and improve high quality product.
  • Diagnose machine malfunctions and coordinate machine repairs.
  • Recommend tooling applications and operational sequence to assist in developing programming for new and unusual machining requirements.
  • Set up for and/or instruct Machine Operators, diagnose operating difficulties and make adjustments as needed.
  • Work from detailed, involved part drawings and/or specifications.
  • Read and follow shop instructions and operate various other milling, drilling, tapping, and turning machines.
  • Perform quality checks on parts produced.
  • Make frequent adjustments and recalibrations to machines to ensure safe and quality operation.
  • Work with production supervisor and other personnel in a cooperative, collaborative and cost-effective manner.
  • Continually suggest and assist the production supervisor with implementing department and process improvements to increase overall quality and productivity.

Work Environment:

The employee works indoors in a production environment.  Additionally, the incumbent will work near moving mechanical parts.  He/she may be exposed to fumes or airborne particles.  There is frequent noise in the work environment.
