Position Purpose:
This position is responsible for creating CNC programs, maintaining tooling, and monitoring machined parts inventory to ensure adherence to quality and production standards. The role supports machining operations through programming, troubleshooting, fixture design assistance, and production support.
Essential Job Functions:
- Program CNC machines to complete machining of various weldments and fabricated parts
- Maintain tooling through sharpening, repair coordination, and inventory monitoring
- Provide cost estimates for internal machining projects and outside job shop work
- Assist with initial set-up of weldments and machining operations
- Support Quality Control with quality assurance and dimensional verification
- Verify and maintain machine drawings at proper revision levels
- Assist Production Manager/Lead with special projects and process improvements
- Fill in as a machinist on assigned machines when needed
- Troubleshoot machining and maintenance issues on CNC equipment
- Assist in fixture design and manufacturing improvements
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Requirements:
- Technical degree in Machine Tool, Tool & Die, or equivalent experience preferred
- Minimum 5 years of horizontal mill CNC programming and machine operation experience
- CAD/CAM and Surfcam experience preferred
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Comfortable using computers for work instructions, labor tracking, and production systems
Physical Requirements:
- Work performed in a manufacturing plant environment 100% of the time
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. as needed
