Summary of Primary Functions:
Responsible for operating one or more types of automated production equipment. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: All employees are required to follow all Safety and Quality rules and processes to ensure a safe working environment, and the production of high-quality products.
- Set up and operate CNC plasma cutting tables to cut various parts from a variety of plates
- Load and unload materials onto the plasma table using cranes, forklifts, or manual methods
- Read and interpret blueprints, CAD drawings, and work orders
- Program, edit, and adjust CNC plasma cutting parameters as required
- Perform test cuts and make adjustments to ensure accuracy and quality
- Monitor machine operation and make real-time adjustments to optimize performance
- Inspect finished parts for dimensional accuracy and quality standards
- Perform routine maintenance, cleaning, and troubleshooting of plasma equipment
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment in compliance with safety regulations
- Record production data, material usage, and job completion details
- Collaborate with production, form maintenance, and welding teams to meet production goals
Education and/or Experience:
- High school diploma or GED required; technical training preferred
- Previous experience operating CNC plasma cutting equipment preferred
- Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings
- Basic understanding of CNC programming and G-code
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
- Ability to use measuring tools (tape measures, calipers, squares)
- Knowledge of metal types and cutting processes
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods
