**CNC Plasma Cutting mACHINE Operator JOB DESCRIPTION

**

**RESPONSIBILITIES:

**

Perform typical machine operations including loading programs, swapping torch heads, handling cutting gas, and the loading/unloading raw material as defined by the shop work orders.

Increase operating efficiency through minimizing set up time and handling, monitoring cut quality, the organization and accurate marking of all parts.

Handle raw material and cut parts both manually and by using overhead cranes, forklifts, or other moving equipment.

Coordinate with engineering to relay any necessary changes to nested programs and equipment set ups for safe or optimized operation.

Maintain regular contact with shop supervisors and fabricators to communicate status of parts for current or upcoming job.

Must be able to prioritize daily tasks to meet scheduled production.

Maintain safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.

Perform other duties and cross-train as assigned by supervisor.

**Qualifications:

**

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Experience operating a CNC Plasma Burn Table, Oxy Acetylene Cutting Table, Water Jet or Laser Cutting Table or other similar systems required.

Experience using Hypertherm ProNest or similar CNC table software required.

Ability or desire to weld is a plus.

Must pass background check, drug test, and fit for duty test.

Lifting techniques, help from another employee or other available resources such as lifting or moving equipment.

**Working Conditions:

**

Performs a variety of tasks which may include but is not limited to the following physical demands

• Standing for over 8 hours a day
• Lifting and carrying 40 pounds
• Pushing and/or pulling 40 pounds
• Walking on variable terrain (loose gravel, concrete flooring, asphalt)
• Turning/twisting/bending at the waist
• Forward and overhead reaching
