1st Shift CNC Milling Operator / Setup Machinist

Location: Elk Grove Village, IL Area

Shift: 1st Shift

Pay: $25.00–$29.00 per hour

Position Overview

TekPro is partned with a well-established aerospace manufacturing company in there search for a 1st Shift CNC Milling Operator / Setup Machinist! This position is ideal for a machinist who is comfortable operating multiple CNC milling machines, performing basic setups, and inspecting their own work.

The company offers strong hourly pay for candidates who can independently manage multiple machines, make basic setup adjustments, and consistently produce quality parts. This is a hands-on production machining role and does not require advanced CNC programming experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate multiple CNC milling machines in a precision manufacturing environment

• Perform basic machine setups, including loading tools, fixtures, and workpieces

• Load and unload parts and monitor machining cycles

• Make basic offsets and adjustments as needed to maintain part specifications

• Read and follow blueprints, work instructions, and job travelers

• Perform in-process inspection using micrometers, calipers, gauges, and other standard inspection equipment

• Verify finished parts meet dimensional and quality requirements

• Monitor tooling and identify worn or damaged tools

• Maintain consistent production while operating multiple machines when required

• Follow all safety, quality, and housekeeping procedures

Qualifications

• Previous CNC milling machine operation experience

• Ability to perform basic CNC machine setups or setup-related tasks

• Comfortable operating and monitoring multiple machines

• Ability to read basic blueprints and understand dimensional requirements

• Experience using micrometers, calipers, and other precision measuring instruments

• Ability to make basic machine offsets and adjustments preferred

• Strong attention to quality and detail

• Dependable and able to work effectively in a production machining environment
