Job Overview:

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled CNC Operator for 2nd Shift to set up, operate, and maintain CNC machinery in a precision manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will ensure machined parts meet quality specifications, follow safety procedures, and contribute to smooth production flow.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set up and operate CNC machines per production orders and blueprints.
  • Load and unload workpieces and fixtures safely and efficiently.
  • Verify part dimensions using precision measuring tools (e.g., calipers, gauges) against assembly prints.
  • Maintain lot integrity by keeping work orders organized and separated.
  • Monitor and maintain coolant levels and ensure proper tooling is in place.
  • Review job travelers and confirm all instructions and part requirements are met, including plating allowances.
  • Safely handle, store, and organize completed assemblies to avoid damage.
  • Perform routine machine checks and basic maintenance to keep equipment running smoothly.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area and follow all safety protocols.
  • Communicate issues with materials, machines, or quality to the supervisor promptly.

Qualifications:

Required Skills & Abilities:

  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and blueprints.
  • Proficiency in using calipers, micrometers, and other measuring tools.
  • Solid mechanical aptitude and basic math skills.
  • Familiarity with Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) is a plus.
  • Good time management and attention to detail.
  • Able to work independently and take initiative.

Must be a US Citizen or authorized to work.

Education & Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience operating CNC machines (mills or lathes), preferably HAAS CNC machines.
  • Technical certification preferred but not required.

Physical Requirements:

  • Frequently stand, walk, and use hands to handle or move parts.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally.
  • Good vision, depth perception, and coordination.
  • Yearly eye examinations required.

Work Environment:

  • Moderate noise levels; exposure to moving machinery and airborne particles.
  • Fast-paced production setting with safety as a top priority.
