Summary
We are seeking skilled and motivated CNC Operators to join our manufacturing team in Huntley, IL. This position involves operating and monitoring CNC Lathes and Vertical Machining Centers (VMC) to produce high-quality precision components that meet customer specifications, blueprints, and quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Operate and monitor CNC Lathes and Vertical Machining Centers to produce quality parts according to specifications.
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, work instructions, and GD&T symbols.
- Prepare machines by selecting and installing appropriate tooling, fixtures, and materials.
- Adjust machine parameters, speeds, feeds, and tooling as required.
- Perform first-article, in-process, and final inspections using precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, and related equipment.
- Verify product dimensions and tolerances while maintaining quality standards.
- Troubleshoot machine performance issues, tool wear, equipment malfunctions, and basic programming concerns.
- Perform routine machine maintenance and maintain setup, adjustment, and maintenance records.
- Coordinate production activities with team members to meet production schedules.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment while following all company safety procedures.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous CNC Lathe and/or Vertical Machining Center experience preferred.
- Manufacturing, machining, or technical certifications may be considered in lieu of experience.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, specifications, and GD&T symbols.
- Experience using precision measuring instruments including calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
- Knowledge of CNC machine operations and basic machine setup procedures.
- Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and commitment to quality.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to stand, bend, kneel, reach, and perform repetitive movements throughout the workday.
- Manual dexterity and visual accuracy required for inspection and machine operation.
- Ability to safely perform the physical demands of the position.
