Job Summary 

A Fab CNC Operator is responsible for setting up and operating computer numerical control (CNC) machine to cut, shape, and finish metal or plastic components according to precise specifications. This role requires strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to interpret blueprints to ensure high quality production in a safe and efficient manner.

Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate CNC machines, including mills, lathes, and routers, in accordance with work instructions and blueprints.
  • Load raw materials into CNC machines and securely position them for machining operations
  • Unload finished products from machines and move them designated storage areas. 
  • Monitor machine operations and make necessary adjustments to maintain quality and precision
  • Use measurement tools to inspect in-process and finished components.
  • Read and interpret blueprints to determine appropriate machining operations.
  • Replace tools, cutting heads, or machine components as needed to maintain production efficiency and part quality.
  • Operate CNC machine software and interface with computer systems to load programs.
  • Maintain accurate production records, including quantities. 
  • Collaborate with supervisors, engineers about projects, and to resolve production issues.


Requirements

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Ability to operate and troubleshoot CNC machine tools.
  • Familiarity with computer-based machine controls and program inputs.
  • Proficient in reading blueprints and understanding geometric tolerancing.
  • Skilled in using precision measurement instruments.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and math skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and focus on quality.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Basic computer skills for interfacing with CNC software, communication, and inputting data
  • Ability to communicate with employees via phone
  • Able to hold a company forklift license

Education & Experience 

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • 1+ year of CNC machine operating experience preferred
  • Technical training or certification in machining or CNC operation a plus.

Work Environment & Physical Demands

  • Work schedule is 6:00AM-4:30PM Monday-Thursday
  • Overtime may be required based on production demands
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods
  • Performing repetitive work that involves a variety of movements
  • Frequent lifting, bending, and manual labor
  • Ability to lift and maneuver materials up to 50 lbs
  • Indoor manufacturing environment with occasional temperature variations
  • Requires the use of PPE
