Grade 1 – CNC Mill Operator (Entry Level)
*Duties:*
- Operate computer numerically controlled horizontal/vertical mills
- Observe spooling and cutting operations; detect malfunctions and replace worn tools
- Install proper holding fixtures and tool holders
- Load feed mechanism by lifting stock into position (may require cranes/hoists)
- Position, secure, and align cutting tools and holders
- Perform preventive maintenance on equipment
- Inspect parts to verify conformance to specifications
- Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe work area
*Qualifications:*
- General knowledge of machining and machine maintenance
- Attention to detail and sound judgment
- Ability to stand 20–30% of the work day and lift up to 50 lbs
- Ability to utilize a crane/hoist

Grade 2 – CNC Mill Operator/Programmer
*Duties (in addition to Grade 1 duties):*
- Plan machining by studying work orders, blueprints, and material specifications
- Program mills — entering instructions, setting tool registers, offsets, compensation, and conditional switches
- Set up mills, including installing/adjusting 3- and 4-jaw chucks, tools, and attachments
- Operate CNC mills through turning and facing operations, taking measurements, troubleshooting, and reprogramming controls
- Troubleshoot malfunctions and advise on needed repairs
*Qualifications:*
- 2+ years of experience programming and operating a CNC mill
- Ability to read blueprints and interpret material specifications
- Knowledge of machining controls and instrumentation

Grade 3 – Senior CNC Mill Operator/Programmer
*Duties (in addition to Grade 1 & 2 duties):*
- Plan machining using engineering plans in addition to work orders and blueprints
- Adhere to quality assurance procedures and processes
- Complete production and quality logs
- Mentor and train other machine operators
- Maintain inventory and order machine parts/equipment/stock
- Stay current on job knowledge through continued education and technical publications
*Qualifications:*
- 5+ years of experience programming and operating a CNC mill
- Exceptional conceptual, functional, and technical skills with strong verbal communication
- Strategic understanding of business plan and objectives
- Sound judgment, diplomacy, and attention to detail
- Ability to stand 50% of the work day and lift up to 50 lbs
