SUMMARY:
Set up and operate horizontal/vertical mills and lathes to produce quality parts on schedule. Ensure setups follow blueprints, setup sheets, and customer specs. May train less-experienced operators.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Set up machines accurately and efficiently; run production per Operations Sheet.
- Inspect parts using calipers, micrometers, and profile projectors; ensure quality standards.
- Load/unload tooling; adjust CNC programs and tool offsets.
- Perform secondary operations (drill, deburr, polish) as needed.
- Oversee lower-skilled operators when required.
- Maintain clean, safe work area; follow all safety policies and ISO/AS standards.
- Document work using Operations Sheet and Real-Time Data Collection.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Expert in CNC setup, program editing, and blueprint reading.
- Proficient with measuring tools and metrology devices.
- Knowledge of various metals and machining properties.
- Basic trigonometry and mechanical aptitude.
- OSHA training: LOTO, Hazard Communication, PPE, Emergency Evacuation.
- Strong physical stamina; lift up to 70 lbs; stand/walk all day; bend/stoop/twist up to 75% of the day.
- Ability to work in noisy, metalworking environments.
