SUMMARY: Basic set-ups from an established processes and meeting cycle times of those processes in the machine shop. Should have knowledge of, and be responsible for supporting lean manufacturing principles and teamwork throughout the company. Act as a positive role model in accordance with Altek's desired behaviors. Work with a sense of urgency to promote on time delivery and adhere to the goals and expectations as defined by management.  Swing Shift pay includes an additional $1/hour for shift differential. 

 

FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILTIES:

  • Build and maintain positive rapport with other Altek employees, customers and suppliers
  • Exhibit positive communication and behavior skills
  • Audit other employees in meeting quality standards
  • Adapt and modify as situations change
  • Maintain a positive outlook and treat co-workers with respect and professionalism

 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Perform production machining according to Altek’s Quality Policies & Procedures
  • Inspect product according to Altek’s Policies & procedures
  • Set-up equipment to run production according to Standard Work Instructions
  • Maintain product/set-up documentation
  • Some Shop Floor editing of CNC programs to maintain product quality
  • Mazatrol Conversational programming a plus
  • Able to interpret basic G/M code
  • Complete understanding of Edge Finders and Test Indicator applications
  • In-depth knowledge of machine axis directional movement

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 3-years’ experience or equivalent with set-up and operation of CNC milling machines, preferably, but not limited, to Fadals or Mazak Vertical Mills with A Axis and multiple vise set-ups
  • Proficient in the use of Inspection equipment
  • Able to read and interpret blueprints, also but not limited to GDT
  • Associate Degree in Machining preferred, but minimum of High School Degree or GED required
  • Quality conscious attitude and pride of workmanship with designated responsibilities
  • Possess comprehensive reading skills
  • Able to communicate effectively in written and oral communication with co-workers and supervisors
  • Ability to build and maintain positive rapport with other Altek employees
  • Exhibit positive communication and behavior skills
  • Able to adapt and modify to situational changes
  • Ability to manage workload and changing priorities
